Late in the summer of 2018 Jasmine & Ahsoka were born in our back yard. These beautiful siamese sisters loved climbing trees, chasing little lizards, and sleeping on our fence. Everyday they would greet us at our door and come running when we parked our car, most likely they just wanted food 🙂
Initially my wife called Jasmine, the white siamese cat, “Kitty”; purrfect name, right? And her sister… well my wife called her “Sister”.
When the time was right my wife took them to get spayed and the vet could not believe that these two beautiful cats were strays; Miami is full of strays! The vet thought we were trying to get a “cheap spay” but they truly were stray cats.
After almost one year, and after my wife asked me about one million times, we decided to officially make these beautiful sisters part of our indoor family. We build shelves for them to climb on, got all of the cat toys, and made them feel right at home! The best part was, they got along great with our senior dogs!
A few weeks after we brought the cats in, my wife had to take an extended trip and that’s when we had a few issues.
Jasmine was peeing outside the box. She was peeing on everything. Dog beds, the couch, our bed, the counter, the window sill, everything! And worse she was straining to pee. After a few vet visits, many tests and scans, and a LOT of money, the vet told us that there was literally nothing wrong with her.
The issue was stress. Most likely a reaction to my wife, her mom, leaving. I worked hard to figure out the food they like and the litter the prefer. But the biggest help was the calming oil diffuser and calming cat treats. They were a life saver.
After one day she was back to normal and so was my life!
Now they are two of the happiest, most friendly, and cuddly kitties we have ever met!
